Caroline Konstnar Faked a Pregnancy for Money: Baby’s First Parasocial Realization
In order to return to the platform with a BANG and jumpstart her new Patreon account, creator Caroline Konstnar decided to both fake a pregnancy and clickbait the loss of that pregnancy. When called out for this shortsighted and, frankly, insane behavior, Caroline tried to justify her actions by calling it a “parasocial experiment”.
In this video, we discuss my perception of Caroline’s online persona and what could possibly lead to her making such a decision. As a bonus, we also go over a bit of her response video that is currently only available on her Patreon.

The Haleyy Baylee Effect: Decentering Celebrities & Influencers... Or Are We?

Influencer and model Haleyy Baylee is being accredited with accidentally starting a divestment movement from celebrity/ influencer culture after she posted a TikTok in a lovely, handmade gown outside of the Met Gala, using the popular sound “let them eat cake”. In response, the youths on TikTok have begun a trend called Blockout 2024 where they are encouraging people to block both celebrities a...

    Your discussion of Kurtis' handling of the situation reminded me of a discussion they had recently on Sad Boyz (the episode was "New N-Word White Lady Just Dropped | Sad Boyz (w/ Brian David Gilbert & Ify Nwadiwe)") about how there should be a difference between how an influencer reacts to an influencer-friend's behavior vs how they react to an IRL friend's behavior. Like you said, people are rarely going to take criticism from strangers seriously, so the responsibility must lie on their friends to help them grow. If someone loses all their friends because of what they did, what are they going to do? Take their soul crushing punishment, and then eventually make new friends who will just abandon them as soon as they find about about the same indecent? Or, in their moment of desperation, do they find friends who explicitly support offensive behavior, who will undoubtedly make them a worse person? It will probably be the ladder. When we don't allow anyone to grow, we are inviting the opposite, and potentially making the world a worse place for the affected groups, because we're not protecting them, we're just protecting our own reputation or ourselves from having to have a hard conversation. I bring this up in particular because of the tiktoker at 28:32 and the redditer earlier in the video, who acknowledge that Kurtis removed all videos with Dean on the channel, and no longer collabs with or even mentions him, but still demand that he shouldn't "associate" with him anymore. From what I understand, Kurtis, Jacob and Dean have been friends since before any of them were influencers. Dismantling someone's IRL support system should not be a mandatory part of deplatforming someone, for everyone's sake.

    Duncan, and people like him, say things that other people of that mindset LOVE to hear, while pushing many, many people further away from that ideology than they would have been otherwise. Sure, radical leftist white people might say "hell yeah!" but the rest of us are more likely to react like "holy shit, we're under attack. We must stop the spread of this cancer NOW."

    I feel like the point of Kidology’s video was how the left can improve their political stance and make themselves more desirable in the culture wars. It’s literally a blue print on how to improve left tube and its influence from what she has observed (from an apolitical point of view). Currently the left are losing many rights since the drop of her initial video including Roe V Wade being overturned (USA) and other systems of medical gatekeeping for trans individuals (especially in the UK). Some of her suggestions included: - stop policing and canceling each other - stop being cliquey - avoid echo chambers of thought - stop calling everyone racist, transphobic, etc - avoid some of the common hypocrisy’s such as being vocally anti capitalist but benefiting from being walking billboard’s for UA-cam ads - learn to care about the needs of people you don’t think need it (hence winning over voters) That’s not to say that everything she said was gospel 😂 I think the saying is “chew the meat and spit out the bones” or take the good advice and ignore the bad takes. Enjoyed the video ❤ honestly breadtube might as well be drama channels 😂 I only clicked on this video because I remembered the drama between Kidology and FD. But political posturing for two hours is also appreciated.

      @UnpoeticJustice 4 дні тому

      Please enlighten me on who my "favorite black comedians" are. You saw a black creator talking about race even though you clearly didn't watch the video, then assumed that I have some "favorite black comedians" simply because I'm black. You sound like a fool.

    • @musiclibrary7175
      @musiclibrary7175 4 дні тому

      @@UnpoeticJustice you're missing the point. Whenever asian or white people get made fun of, it gets swept under the rug, and no one really cares. It's called having thick enough skin to not get offended over things that aren't even relevant anymore, like old depictions of black people that are outdated and don't have anything to do with people doing blackface in the modern day. You sound like you have a degree in complaining bro, no offense.

    • @musiclibrary7175
      @musiclibrary7175 3 дні тому

      @@UnpoeticJustice bro everyone has a favorite black comedian at this point, or actor. grow up. You don't even know my race man, what if I was also of african descent? I'm not assuming anything, and you had to make an assumption as well to suppose that I was in the first place. Like a lot of people who share your sentiments, you take the words of those who disagree with you, and presume that they hold malicious intent (or racism, e.t.c.), when infact I'm only trying to bring contrasting viewpoints to the table. This seems to be something that you can't handle, because open debates that aren't one sided are somehow offensive in your eyes. Maybe talk to other black folks who also disagree with you on the whole blackface thing in the wonderful 21st century, this way you can broaden your horizons.

      @johntorres2565 3 дні тому

      @@UnpoeticJustice I’m just saying that she obviously needed a new revenue stream. So she restarts her channel with that bad “joke.” What she clearly didn’t realize is that your audience doesn’t like to be the ones that are tricked or the joke being on them. South Park learned this when they were going to give the DNA test who would prove who Cartman’s dad was. And then you had to wait like a couple of weeks or something and then it turned out to be an April Fool’s joke and instead they showed an episode of Terrence and Phillip called “not without my anus” and it was least watched episode in the series so far. They can’t tons of hate mail. So they learned that the audience is fine laughing at others or even the performer but they don’t find the joke funny when it is on them. So they had to race and make an episode that they showed 4 weeks later or so where they promised to give an answer to the question. And they did. Even though it was very anticlimactic, they dug themselves out of that terrible pitfall that was of their own making. Maybe Caroline has never seen that episode or know the story of it and the backlash it caused. It is a cautionary tale of how you never make your audience FEEL like the butt of the joke for believing something or of an April Fool’s prank on the day the most widely anticipated episode of South Park was supposed to air. That’s all I was saying. Fair enough?

    liberal white LGB ordeal was a white ppl problem since greece. If anything, the black community has dwindled since the 80s. Black people created the conservative party (even though it was taken by racists in the 70s), but it goes to show what the black community stemmed from. But destroying a community so much finacially and identity wise, we no longer seem to priotize our traditional values and seem to value what investors value most in the world: liberal white women beliefs and interest (Even Taylor Swift seems to be required to even help all musicians, which shows who they prioritize most because her audience is the 80% consumer of USA and majority of debt holders). So it's a natural amoral decision for companies to destroy the identity of all but the belief of white liberal women, namely feminism and LGB, to give them an edge on the market ,even if it destroys whole community's identity and merge it with theirs. Even black families who had two parent housholds in the 80s desmised the 80s new wave for being degenerate, and now as they die off, we have more who don't know how to sustain their culture, and the population is dwindling as birthrates lower and people care less about their culture than they do about politics or this narrative over gender, as if it's it's as important as your life. It's all a distraction, and more puppets are born every day. As they say, when an elder dies, knowledge goes with it. And as usual, no one may not see this post tube typically erases comments that make you think deeper, to retain the indoctrination to put people back to sleep, but then feel like they're more liberated at the same time. Liberated to be animalistic, but not liberated to think against the grain that might shake up the system. Think about it.

    Digital blackface is when white people pretend to be black online, using a picture of a black person as their pfp for example, using AAVE in tweets, and/or outright claiming to be black. It is not a measure of the hatefulness or subtlety of the impersonation, it just references the medium in which it happens.

Jon Romano, with his whole "a black guy attacked me" was so that he could start a race war, i truly believe with all my heart that he was provoking the black guy to do that just so he could start this race war, many of Jon romano friends have spoken out, that man is very dangerous and needs to be locked up, this is truly scary.

    I think, is it necessary for the LGBTQIA+ community to expose children to sexually explicitly content on schools and parades? Is there no other way for them to express themselves?(That it's without putting books in school that have literally lines of people making sex)? I think there are rooms for books that teach kids to respect each one's sexual identity without having to expose children to mature content.

    I’m sad Jenna is gone, and I didn’t even know why she felt prompted to go (I do now), but at the same time she had more than enough reasons to. Not just because her old content has a bad taste and she didn’t realise her racist mannerisms until 2021, but because she herself was growing old. As a black person, I may not be offended but I understand the offense. Same for her mock of people who are Chinese. Her leaving unprompted is a show of growth, and she doesn’t need to return. Miss her, but it’s fair she is gone. Even people who are better in the present need to admit to their faults from the past.

    i saw a video essay recently, idr by whom, but it brought up that when youtubers do apology videos, they are trying to apologize both as a person and as a BUSINESS. an apology like james somerton's rang incredibly hollow largely due to him expressing the desire to continue making videos (aka stealing money). he was apologizing for stealing so that he could continue to steal. obviously, there's something thefty about a white person actively, enthusiastically reaping the benefits of systemic racism by committing blackface. jenna recognizing that her youtube business was a benefit that she didn't deserve because it was so intertwined with her white privilege, and therefore stepping away from it entirely, was one of the key things that made her apology WORK. she was apologizing WITHOUT begging for forgiveness. an effective apology should not ask ANYTHING of the victimized party. it functions to give back, either literally or metaphotically, whatever was stolen from them in the first place. if you can't handle making sacrifices, then your "apology" will amount to performative garbage.

    I've been watching through your channel and I've got to say that it is excellent. I really appreciate your point of view on things, especially with how you don't seem to be coming from a place of extreme bias. I'm a very politically active leftist so I'm not saying that in a "why is everything so political now" type of way. Just nice to not have a video essayists reaffirming me that we're on the same team every couple minutes. Anyway, great videos thanks for sharing

    One of the biggest tells for kido that made me suspicious was that her vedios come out so quickly that I find it unlikely that she does good research in all of them. So she must really on some bias to find the articles. Also her latest vedio about virute signaling was so bad. She goes on her apotical speal then proceeds to point and laugh at all the people supporting palistine. Especially the 'cringyer' vedios talking about how all these people are being virtue signalers and didn't even put one vedio about people behaving similar for Isreal. how could she even claim to be apolitical while only attacking the Palestinian supporters is insane to me. Just for context i only started getting recommended her vedios a month ago so i had no clue about the s.d. transphodia stuff

    I’m not sure if this will put the whole acting thing into perspective but if she was in a serious relationship and just decided one day to test how emotionally attached her partner was to her, so she decided to act single to see how they’d react… it’s not acting, she just cheated😂 and the partner would have every right to leave her or bash her for what she did, even if she thought she was just acting😂

    I like that this video comes from a place of wanting to educate and understand rather than this person did something hate them, just because you did something bad doesn’t mean you can’t change and be better but you have be aware of the problem to truly understand

    I can't stand liberal or leftists or any of this crap. I'm just excited to see groveling, annoying kurtis Connor start to get noticed for the dweeb he is.
